Twitter is instituting new safeguards to prevent the personal account of its most-followed world leader, President Donald Trump, from going dark.
The firm wouldn't detail what the safeguards are, citing security concerns, but vowed "our teams are on it." Trump's account went dark for 11 minutes Thursday night.
The company has explained someone with the ability to suspend accounts deleted Trump's on Thursday night — on the staffer's last day on the job.
According to the New York Times, the worker was a contractor, and not directly employed by Twitter.
Trump broke the news Friday morning, suggesting his "word" was "having an impact."
