Dick Van Dyke suffered "minor injuries" after crashing his car into a gate in Malibu, California, police confirmed to People Wednesday.
The incident took place on March 15 when the silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 Van Dyke was driving slid into the structure, according to the report, which noted that the area has been experiencing record rains.
The "Mary Poppins" star was treated by paramedics at the scene but was not transported to the hospital, authorities said. Sources told TMZ that the 97-year-old actor's mouth and nose were bleeding and that he may have sustained a concussion.
Most recently, Van Dyke was seen on the small screen, when he was unmasked on the season 9 premiere of "The Masked Singer" in February. He performed Frank Sinatra's "When You're Smiling," which the star attributes to his wife, Arlene Silver, 51.
"They wanted me to do something current and I know nothing from rock," Van Dyke said, according to People. "So we picked out one which typifies me. She's the one that came up with it, and I liked the song, too."
Van Dyke previously shared his concerns about how the public would respond to him marrying Silver, who is 46 years his junior.
Speaking with Closer Weekly in March last year, the actor said he feared that Silver would be labeled as a "gold digger" when they exchanged vows a decade ago.
"I thought there would be an outcry about a gold digger marrying an old man," he told the outlet. "But no one ever took that attitude."
The age gap, Van Dyke explained, has had very little impact on their marriage because they "share an attitude."
"She [Silver] can go with the flow. She loves to sing and dance, which we do almost every day. She's just delightful," he said.
After being married for all these years, Silver is just as in love with her husband as ever.
"He is the most perfect human being," she said. "I've never met anyone so happy, so genuine, so amazing. He's just like a happy pill."
