Sen. Cory Booker, who announced he is running for president in 2020 earlier this month, has revealed on The Breakfast Club radio program that he is dating someone.
He described his girlfriend as “somebody really special," but did not give more details or reveal her identity, joking that the topic was "the most uncomfortable part of this interview."
However, according to Newsweek, he is rumored to be dating actress Rosario Dawson, although neither one has confirmed it.
Among all those who have announced their candidacy for president in 2020 so far, Booker is the only bachelor.
Almost all the presidents entering the White House have had wives. Grover Cleveland got married while he was in office, while James Buchanan was a bachelor, and Chester Arthur was widowed before he became chief executive.
The 49-year-old Booker said on the radio program that there are two more years to go until it is known who the next president will be, and in that time his personal status may change, but, in any case, he did not think his personal life would be a factor in the election.
“If Donald Trump can get elected with the personal life that he has, then anybody can," the senator said.
