CNN is on track to finish February with its smallest monthly audience among viewers aged 25-54 years old for the first time in nearly nine years.
This group of viewers is considered highly coveted by advertisers.
Fox News reported that the CNN shows, “Anderson Cooper 360,” “The Lead with Jake Taper,” and the “Situation Room” are also on pace to record their smallest audiences in February in the key group of viewers.
"The Situation Room" and "The Lead with Jake Tapper" are set to lose 40% of the demographic from Feb. 2022.
"Anderson Cooper 360" is expected to drop at least 38% of the demographic audience it recorded during the same month last year, according to Fox News.
In addition, CNN’s “Inside Politics” is set to notch its least-viewed month among the demographic since 2005.
Meanwhile, “CNN This Morning” is on track to finish this month with its tiniest monthly audience among the demographic group since it came on the air last year.
The show was hit by controversy in February when co-host Don Lemon remarked that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was not in “her prime,” The Associated Press noted.
In a tweet he later apologized for his comments.
“To my network, my colleagues and our incredible audience — I'm sorry,” he wrote. “I've heard you, I'm learning from you, and I'm committed to doing better.”
