Former governor and head of the Democratic National Committee Howard Dean on Thursday suggested President Donald Trump put the Clinton Foundation in charge of "rehab of Puerto Rico."
Dean's tweet was in direct response to the president's early morning tweet saying he cannot keep federal emergency teams on the island "forever."
The suggestion was ripe given Trump's repeated attacks on the Clinton Foundation as being a corrupt organization during his 2016 race against Hillary Clinton for the presidency.
Trump repeatedly dogged Clinton for her "pay-for-play" while secretary of state, providing access to big donors to the Clinton Foundation.
Dean, the former governor of Vermont and a Democratic presidential candidate in 2004, has remained in the spotlight as a Democratic pundit since exiting his DNC role in 2009.
