New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be in Boston next month for an exclusive top-dollar fundraiser.
The private dinner will be held on March 1 for as many as 30 people,
The Boston Globe reports.
Each attendee is being asked to donate $3,800 to the Republican governor’s re-election effort, The Globe reports.
The location has not been announced.
“As you may know, he is up for re-election this November and his race will be one of the most closely watched and competitive races in the country this cycle,” Steve Roche, a local fundraiser connected to the event, said in an invitation published by The Globe. “He could certainly use our help.”
Christie, considered a 2016 presidential candidate, delivered the keynote address for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla.
But some GOP operatives say that Christie’s support for President Barack Obama during Superstorm Sandy in the critical says days before the election helped sink Romney’s campaign, The Globe reports.
Christie has rejected that criticism.
