Hillary Clinton says the gutsiest thing she has ever done was stay in her marriage to Bill Clinton.
The former senator, secretary of state and Democratic presidential nominee made her comments during a Tuesday interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” She appeared on the show to promote her new book, “The Gutsy Book of Women,” which she co-wrote with daughter Chelsea.
"I think the gutsiest thing I’ve ever done, well, personally, (is) make the decision to stay in my marriage," Clinton said. “Publicly, politically run for president. Just get up every day and keep going."
Her marriage was tested after it was revealed then-President Bill Clinton had an affair with then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky during his second term in office.
Chelsea Clinton also was asked about the gutsiest thing she had ever done. She replied: “Oh, goodness, I think I'm so overwhelmed by my mother's answer that I'm a bit out of words,” she said. “I’m just so proud to be her daughter.”
She finally cited her role as a mom to three children.
