Koch Industries CEO Charles Koch said Donald Trump’s proposal to have all Muslims in the United States register for a database was "reminiscent of Nazi Germany."
"That's monstrous," the GOP donor said in an interview aired Sunday on ABC's "
This Week."
Charles Koch and his brother David Koch are prominent sources of financing for numerous conservative causes, but Charles Koch said he has not and probably won’t back one of the Republican candidates, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Charles Koch said that the candidates appear to be more interested in attacking each other than issues facing the United States.
"You've got to be like Ronald Reagan and compete on making the country better rather than tearing down your opponents," Koch said in the interview.
"You're terrible role models," he said, about the candidates.
In January, the network of conservative advocacy groups backed by the Koch brothers announced they would spend $889 million to support conservative candidates,
The Washington Post reported.
Charles Koch said he could "possibly" support Hillary Clinton, but the Democratic presidential candidate turned him down in a tweet.
