The Council on American-Islamic Relations is standing up for Jewish people after 11 Jewish community centers received President's Day bomb threats.
CAIR is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever was behind the bomb threats that occurred throughout the country.
"It is the duty of American Muslims to offer support to the Jewish community and any minority group targeted in the recent spike in hate crimes nationwide," CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad said. "We hope this reward will aid in the swift apprehension and prosecution of the perpetrators."
On Monday, bomb threats were called into Jewish community centers in New Mexico, Alabama, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Minnesota, Florida and Oklahoma. None of them were legitimate, but authorities were called to each location and the buildings were cleared.
There have been four such incidents in the last two months, and officials believe the same person or persons is likely behind them. Forty-eight centers were targeted in January.
President Donald Trump called the threats "horrible and painful" during a visit to the National Museum of African-American History on Tuesday.
