Cadbury — under fire from people who accused the chocolate giant of removing the word "Easter" from its British candy ads — insists the Christian celebration still weighs big in its promotions.
"Actually, we have used the word Easter in our marketing and communications for over 100 years and continue to do so in our 2018 Easter range," a Cadbury U.K. spokesperson tweeted.
Cadbury was accused of a "war on Easter" last year after it branded its annual national egg hunt as the "Cadbury Great British Egg Hunt," Irish Central reported.
The alleged "Easter" snub even had British Prime Minister Theresa May on the warpath, commenting, "I don't know what they are thinking about frankly. Easter's very important … It's a very important festival for the Christian faith for millions across the world."
But this year, the chocolate maker has returned to trumpeting its annual event as the "Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt."
