Senate Republicans are moving full speed ahead on the confirmation process of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh without the entirety of the nearly 1 million documents they requested from the National Archives, Politico is reporting.

Archives director informed Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, that they would not be able to deliver roughly 600,000 of the requested documents until late October, days before the midterms.

Senate Republicans want Kavanaugh confirmed by then and seated when the Supreme Court convenes its new session – in early October.

No documents, no problem.

"I can't envision a scenario where that vote is delayed," a source close to GOP leadership told Politico. "I think they will have a good sense of what is out there on Kavanaugh. There's no chance in hell Mitch McConnell holds this vote after the election."

The Archives will be able to deliver about 300,000 of the requested docs detailing Kavanaugh's tenure in the George W. Bush administration by Aug. 20.
