The grieving girlfriend of Anthony Bourdain said Friday she is "beyond devastated" at the tragic suicide of her "fearless spirit" and "rock."
"Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did," Italian actress and model Asia Argento wrote in a heartbreaking message on Twitter.
"His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He was my love, my rock, my protector.
"I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine," added Angento, the 42-year-old daughter of famed horror director Dario Argento.
Bourdain, 61, was found dead in his hotel room Friday in France while working on his CNN series on culinary traditions around the world. His death has been called a suicide.
The Daily Mail reports that hours before Argento released her message, she posted an image on Instagram that seemed to refer to Bourdain, whose death had not yet been made public.
In the photo, which she has since deleted, Argento wears a shirt with an image of late Sex Pistols star Sid Vicious, one of Bourdain's idols, with the words "**** everyone," according to The Mail.
Bourdain met Argento when they filmed an episode of his CNN show "Parts Unknown" in December 2016.
