In a bid to keep Iran from destabilizing the Middle East, a divided Gulf Cooperation Council is moving to mend fences and perhaps even expand to include Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco.

The Sunni monarchies of the Persian Gulf hope an influx of new regional forces will complement their American-made advanced weapons systems as the United States reduces its presence there.
