It took actor Alec Baldwin less than a week to backpedal on his insistence that he is finished playing President Donald Trump on "Saturday Night Live."
Days after he insisted he would no longer impersonate the president on the weekly show, Baldwin told "Extra" he is willing to come back to "SNL" in the fall if he is needed.
'SNL' executive producer Lorne Michaels "is my good friend and if they want me to come and do the show per my availability, I'd be more than happy," Baldwin said.
"This last season it was tough because I think I knew that I had a little anxiety … because I thought, 'This fall, I've got to go to work …' I've taken a lot of time off since our last baby, Romeo, was born. I haven't worked that much … like a real gig where you make a movie for like six weeks or eight weeks … you go away on location."
Baldwin has played Trump on "SNL" since late 2016 when that year's presidential campaign was winding down. He is a vocal critic of the president.
