Dick Morris, speaking to Sean Hannity on FoxNews Monday night, says Barack Obama and his administration are making a political mistake in dismissing the growing opposition to his healthcare plan.
Morris compared the "bad strategy" to Richard Nixon's villifying of the left during the 1960s and '70. The difference now, he said, is the political opposition today aren't hippies; they're 70-year-old ladies whose political support Obama and the Democrats need.
"It's not cool," he said.
Morris also took a mild swipe at his former employee in the Clinton administration, David Axelrod, who asked rhetorically on TV over the weekend what medical school Morris had attended in order to come up with his determination that Obama's plan would result in a shortage of doctors. Said Morris: "It's not a matter of med school. It's elementary school."
