Two days before Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s longtime business partner, was scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee, the Justice Department demanded his arrest on an unrelated matter.

The legal morass that President Biden’s son Hunter finds himself in endangers the father more than it does the son, and Archer very likely holds the key to unlocking all the evidence.

The New York Post’s Miranda Devine, who wrote the book “Laptop from Hell,” which details the sordid evidence of corruption found on Hunter Biden’s notebook computer, described what had occurred over the weekend.

“The DOJ is trying to arrest Devon Archer ahead of his bombshell testimony Monday about Joe Biden’s involvement in his son Hunter’s Ukraine business when he was VP,” she tweeted Sunday.

“US attorney in the SDNY Damian Williams issued a menacing letter yesterday - Saturday - telling Judge Abrams to order Archer to go to jail immediately to serve a one year sentence for his fraud conviction.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer appeared on “Sunday Morning Futures” and was asked whether the Justice Department typically sends letters out like that on a Saturday.

“Never,” the Kentucky Republican answered. “This is the first time I’ve ever heard of the Department of Justice doing anything on a Saturday."

Comer continued, “It’s odd that it was issued on a Saturday, and it’s odd that it’s right before he’s scheduled to come in and have an opportunity to speak before the House Oversight Committee and tell the American people the truth about what really went on with Burisma,” a Ukrainian natural gas firm that appointed Hunter Biden to its board of directors.

“I don’t know if this is a coincidence, Maria, or another example of the weaponization of the Department of Justice, but I can tell you this: The lengths to which the Biden legal team has gone to try to intimidate our witnesses, to coordinate with the Department of Justice, and to certainly coordinate with the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee to encourage people not to cooperate with our investigation, to encourage banks not to turn over bank records, to encourage Treasury not to let us have access to those Suspicious Activity Reports, is very troubling and I believe that this is another violation of the law, another obstruction of justice.”

Archer, who served with Hunter Biden on Burisma’s board of directors, was expected to reveal to the committee in closed-door testimony that President Biden met with dozens of his son’s business associates between 2009 and 2017, the years that Joe Biden served was vice president.

He’s also expected to testify that he helped the Biden family obtain millions of dollars from foreign sources, including Russia, China, and Ukraine, and that then-Vice President Biden was present at many of his son’s business meetings — either in person or by telephone.

But Archer isn’t the only Biden witness the Justice Department is trying to make disappear. Gal Luft is a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen and co-director of the Maryland-based Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. He’s now in hiding, according to Trending Politics co-owner Colin Rugg.

“Biden corruption whistleblower Gal Luft, who recently went into hiding in fear for his life, reveals how a mole inside the FBI was tipping off Hunter Biden and his Chinese business partners,” Rugg reported.

“Luft came to the DOJ to alert them of potential crimes being committed by the Biden family however instead of looking deeper into the matter, the DOJ worked to cover up Luft’s allegations.”

Instead of acting on the information Luft provided to the FBI, the Justice Department charged him on the evening of July 10 on an eight-count indictment, inclosing acting as an unregistered agent of China.

Rugg wondered, “Isn’t it funny how the Department of ‘Justice’ will search in every crevice for a crime against Trump but won’t look at evidence into the Bidens even if they’re slapped in the face with it?”

The Justice Department has been losing its focus of a one-justice system that’s uniform for all — both the great and the everyday citizen — for decades.

Heritage Foundation senior legal fellow Hans von Spakovsky co-authored a book with John Fund about former Attorney General Eric Holder and his mismanagement of the Justice Department during the Obama years. It was titled, “Obama’s Enforcer.”

At the time Holder made little secret of the fact, and even bragged that he was “Obama’s wingman,” rather than overseeing an independent agency based on the principles of equal justice for all.

But Holder was a rank amateur compared to Merrick Garland, the current attorney general. Garland can make witnesses unfavorable to Democrats and the president disappear right before our eyes.
