DACA Rhetoric Creates a False Narrative

A U.S. District Judge in San Francisco ruled in early January 2018 that President Trump’s decision to end DACA applications is blocked and the process must be restarted. On January 13, 2018, the federal government began accepting new DACA applications and renewing expiring ones.

An appeal is headed directly to the Supreme Court.

DACA is an abbreviation for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The Obama Secretary of Homeland Security announced on June 15, 2012, that individuals who came into the United States illegally as “children” but met certain standards would be given resident status. DACA is not a law, but an Executive Branch action whose constitutionality is questioned even by President Obama.

An estimated 670,000 to 2 million individuals reside in America as DACA recipients or possible recipients. There are no defined numbers. DACA recipients are given work authorizations among other benefits.

The Obama administration decision to defer any removal action of illegal alien “children” for two years but subject to renewal created DACA and is meant to promote an open-borders concept. Obama knew Congress would never pass any law that gave unbridled entry of foreign nationals into the country.

DACA evades Congressional action. Individuals that came into the United States prior to June 15, 2007, before their 16th birthday and have continuously resided in the country may qualify for DACA. DACA individuals must not have any felony or significant misdemeanor convictions, however many DACA applicants give false or misleading personal histories.

Democrats, the newsmedia, and open-border advocates, such as George Soros, invented the term “Dreamers.” “Dreamers” is meant to invoke sympathy and was coined from proposed Congressional legislation called the DREAM Act which stands for “Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act.” The DREAM Act legislation has been proposed by Democrats since 2001 without success.

The DREAM Act has been again introduced in 2017 — Senate Bill 1615 and House Resolution 3440. The 2017 versions would give DACA recipients legal status and a pathway to citizenship. The “Dreamers” demand passage of the bill as a right and “are tired of waiting” for their rights.

Many Americans ask, “What other country in the world would be so lenient? What right? These people are here in violation of the law.”

DHS is required to do a background check on all DACA applicants. These checks vary and for the most part, are pure fiction. Many applicants are unable to read or write in their native languages, let alone the English language. As one DHS officer said under Obama, “Garbage in, garbage out. It is unheard of, that any alien is denied DACA status.”

It is impossible to verify the sparse information the applicants give and most foreign countries do not respond to such inquiries. The Obama DHS even permitted DACA applicants to leave the country for a period of time and then return as if they were legal entrants.

Under the Obama administration illegal aliens of all kinds were given various forms of “amnesty” from any immigration deportation. Deportations were sporadic and inconsistent and when deportations did occur, the Obama administration gave mixed signals as to whether they were authorized deportations.

The 2018 Congressional Democrats push for complete and unqualified grants of residency, tantamount to citizenship for DACA recipients and their illegal families, or no budget. As the Democrats say, a clean bill with no White House or Republican add-ons or no budget.

Democrats and illegal alien advocates brag that DACA recipients have or are serving in the Armed forces. Actually, less than 900 DACA recipients have or are in military service, while 2,139 DACA recipients have lost status for criminal convictions. Democrats and DACA advocates ignore the number of DACA individuals that are members of international criminal gangs like MS-13. Law enforcement officers suggest at a minimum that several thousand or more DACA recipients are gangbangers.

In addition to education, health, housing, and welfare benefits DACA recipients receive, now illegal alien teenagers want taxpayer paid abortions. Liberal federal judges create rationales to grant these demands. U.S. taxpayers lose again.

Congressional Democrats and open-border advocates tout that the “Dreamers” actually pay taxes and are no burden on the federal, state, or local governments. This not is and has not been true.

The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO), as of December 15, 2017, reported that legalizing 2 million illegal immigrant “Dreamers” would cost the federal government $25.9 billion over the next decade.

The CBO estimated that the newly legalized “Dreamers” would sponsor 800,000 more immigrants as part of a “chain migration.” The costs to U.S. taxpayers of these "chain migration" recipients are unknown, but reasonable estimates are that it will be in the billions considering all the benefits given the DACA recipients.

Meanwhile, a United Nations investigation reported that youth poverty in America is the highest in the developed world — now the United States is accepting more youthful poverty.
