Ken Cuccinelli could snag the nomination for any statewide office in Virginia just for the asking, according to
Chris Cillizza's politics blog in The Washington Post. The state attorney general’s high-profile victory over Obamacare makes him a shoo-in for the GOP nomination for governor or senator.

Former Virginia Rep. Tom Davis said, “He is a hero on Fox (News Channel) and with Virginia Republicans,” Cillizza writes in The Fix column.
Although Cuccinelli has not made any public announcements about seeking higher office, a run for the Senate in 2012 against Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., or for governor in 2013, are the obvious choices, Cillizza writes.
However, former Sen. George Allen “is all-but-in the race,” and a poll shows Cuccinelli trailing Webb in a potential matchup by 11 points. A race for the governor’s office is the more likely path with Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell barred from seeking another term, according to Cillizza.
