President Barack Obama says he welcomes any additional information about what led to the decision to free the Lockerbie bomber from jail last year and send him home to Libya.
The Obama administration has asked the governments of Scotland and Britain to review the decision to release Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. Obama says he is confident that the governments will provide all relevant facts.
Oil giant BP has acknowldged that it urged the British government to sign a prisoner transfer agreement with Libya, but says it did not specifically discuss al-Megrahi's case.
Al-Megrahi served eight years of a life sentence for the 1988 bombing of a Pan Am Flight as it flew over Lockerbie, Scotland, en route to New York. The bombing killed 270 people, most of them American.
