Coons Puts O'Donnell in Twilight Zone in Latest Ad

Friday, 22 October 2010 02:52 PM EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic Senate nominee Chris Coons of Delaware portrays rival Christine O'Donnell as something from "The Twilight Zone" in a new campaign ad.

The ad opens with music from the 1960s television show and a narrator saying O'Donnell "says a lot of strange things." It plays clips of her famous "I'm not a witch" commercial, her comment that evolution is a myth and a remark she made about scientists crossbreeding humans and mice.

It ends by saying Coons cut costs as a county executive and held property taxes to among the lowest levels in the region. It doesn't mention that he raised the tax rate by 54 percent.

Coons and O'Donnell are vying for the Senate seat once held by Vice President Joe Biden.
