Rep. Price: GOP Must ‘Stand Strong’ on Debt Ceiling

House Republican Policy Committee Chairman Tom Price of Georgia isn’t too happy with President Barack Obama’s approach to raise the debt ceiling. And he says Republicans should stoutly oppose the president, the Marietta (Georgia) Daily Journal reports.

Obama will use "every demagogic tool in his box" to turn the public against Republicans, Price told a Cobb GOP Independence Day Celebration in Georgia.

Meanwhile, "we're talking about smaller government, less oppressive government, and less spending, and that's what we ought to be talking about," Price said.

"And the way that happens is as we approach this debt-ceiling challenge that we've got right now, Congress can say no," Price said.

"The only way for us to prevail is for you to stand strong, recruit your friends, your neighbors, everybody else to the cause," Price added.
