Thursday, 18 November 2010 04:10 PM EST

Some Democratic liberals continue to urge President Barack Obama to refrain from compromising with Republicans in Congress, despite the GOP’s resounding victory in the midterm elections. Soros, Obama, liberals, midterms, climate, immigrationSoros says wealthy liberals should target their donations to organizations that will push the president and congressional Democrats on liberal policies rather than groups supporting individual candidates, according to a source at a meeting of major Democratic donors this week.

“George was talking about how, in the context of the election, progressives are disappointed, and that they should keep [the Obama administration] focused on certain issues that we should be promoting,” the source says.
