Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul isn’t happy with how our foreign policy has been conducted since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. As the 10
th anniversary of the attacks approaches, the Texas congressman says our policy basically remains the same,
The Hill reports.
“I don’t think we’ve learned a whole lot, because our foreign policy hasn’t changed,” Paul told a guest host on Lou Dobbs’ radio show. Paul has been a constant critic of activist foreign policy over the years, especially the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Our presence in Mideast nations, rather than religious extremism, does the most to spark terrorism, he argued. “The statistics are overwhelming that this is the case. They also show that when [the U.S. military leaves], suicide and terrorist attacks against us are dramatically diminished,” Paul said.
