Romney: ‘I’m Also Unemployed’

Republican Mitt Romney was in Tampa, Florida this week meeting with voters at a coffee shop and listening to unemployment anecdotes when the frontrunner said, “I should tell my story; I’m also unemployed,” according to a report by The New York Times.

The crew at Buddy Brew Coffee was telling Romney of the demands of looking for work when he interjected his personal note. “I wish I had a job for everybody,” Romney said. “I may be unemployed for longer than I’d like.”

Outside, as he stood before television cameras, he became more political.

“We have all been distressed by the policies that this administration has put in place over the last two years,” Romney said.

“We have seen the most anti-investment, antigrowth, anti-job strategy in America since Jimmy Carter. The result has been it’s harder and harder for people to find work.”

Tampa is where Republicans will hold their national convention next summer.
