President Barack Obama’s former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel looks to be in good shape for his bid to be elected mayor of Chicago, assuming the Chicago Board of Elections rules that he’s indeed a

citizen of the city. A new poll from the Chicago Retail Merchants Associ
ation shows Emanuel far ahead of his Democratic rivals, reports Politico.
In the Dec. 20 survey of likely voters, Emanuel tallied 43 percent support, compared to 11 percent for Gery Chico, former chief of staff to current Mayor Richard Daley; 7 percent for former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun; 6 percent for former Rep. Danny Davis and for Chicago City Clerk Miguel Del Valle; and 3 percent for state Sen. James Meeks.
