Palin: Union Boss 'Thugs' Should Dial Back Rhetoric

By    |   Friday, 11 March 2011 02:48 PM EST

What goes around comes around. After the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., two months ago, Democrats complained about the strong rhetoric of Sarah Palin — with some even blaming her for the incident that killed six people. The former Alaska governor turned that reasoning on public union supporters in Wisconsin, Politico reports.

Sarah Palin, union, Wisconsin, thugsSome union bosses are “acting like thugs,” Palin told Sean Hannity of Fox News Thursday night. And unions have a responsibility “to turn down the rhetoric and get truth out there so nobody gets hurt,” Palin said.

Some union officials “are leading some of their good members down a road that will result in, unfortunately, somebody getting hurt if you believe the death threats that are being received by those who happen to support amending some collective bargaining privileges of state unions.”

Earlier Thursday, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Justice announced that they were investigating an e-mail threatening the lives of some Republican state senators.
