Palin: Debt Ceiling Will Rise

By    |   Sunday, 05 June 2011 10:22 AM EDT

It’s inevitable that Congress will raise the nation’s $14.3 trillion debt ceiling, Sarah Palin conceded Sunday, but if she were serving in the body, she wouldn’t support an increase, Politico reports.

palin, debt,“I know that the debt ceiling will be raised whether I want it to be raised or not. There is a majority in Congress on both sides of the aisle that will raise the debt ceiling,” Palin said during an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.” “If I were in Congress, I would be a no vote to raise the debt ceiling.”

The former Alaska governor and possible Republican presidential candidate, who just wrapped up the first week of a nationwide bus tour, said hiking the debt limit would simply hand Washington another tool to increase the nation’s out-of-control debt.
