Friday, 22 October 2010 10:29 PM EDT

Nina Totenberg, NPR's legal affairs correspondent, has revealed that the firing this week of Juan Williams (pictured) has caused internal friction at the network, blasting that NPR managers who fired the journalist did so without exercising objective reasoning, according to a foxnews.com report.

williams, npr, totenberg, firingTotenberg charged that Williams's ouster "wasn't a terribly popular decision on the news floor."  Totenberg's comments were made on the television political affairs show "Inside Washington."

As to whether Totenberg's controversial take on NPR's handling of the Williams firing has jeopardized her own job, NPR spokeswoman Anna Christopher says her organization is not considering any change in Totenberg's employment status.
