Singles Might Not Vote for Newt, Rudy

By    |   Wednesday, 25 May 2011 02:55 PM EDT

You might think that single voters would be somewhat forgiving of politicians such as Newt Gingrich and Rudy Giuliani who cheated on their spouses. But a recent poll by dating site Zoosk shows that’s not the case, Paul Bedard writes for U.S. News & World Report.

Just over half — 53 percent — of bachelors and bachelorettes say affairs by political candidates will negatively affect their decisions in the polling booth, the survey shows. That’s bad news for Gingrich, who has begun his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, and for Giuliani, who is expected to enter the race soon.

Single women are more adamant on the subject than men, with 57 percent of the gals saying that adultery will affect their vote, compared with 50 percent of the guys.
