Rep. Michele Bachmann told supporters in Iowa on Saturday that it's time for America to accept "tough love" on the issue of raising the

federal debt ceiling, and she vowed she would never vote for any increase, reports the
Des Moines Register.
"Don’t let them scare you by telling you that the country’s going to fall apart and that we’re going to default on our debt. The fact is we aren’t, because revenue continues to come into Washington, D.C.,” she said in Urbandale.
“It’s time for tough love,” she said. “Now you want to talk about a dysfunctional family, take a look at the United States Congress and what they’re doing on the debt ceiling. In our family, my husband and I would’ve taken that credit card, we would have chopped that baby up and we would have said sorry, kids, there’s no going out to eat. Sorry, no new clothes. We’re going to live within our means.”
