World Wrestling Entertainment, formerly led by Connecticut GOP Senate candidate Linda McMahon (pictured), is slipping out of a choke hold that Democrats tried to apply. A new Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee ad against McMahon criticizes the company’s conduct, Politico reports.

mcmahon, connecticut, democrats, wweBut the WWE notes that the criticism is hypocritical, because President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have embraced WWE over the years to gain votes – as have George W. Bush and John McCain.

The DSCC ad says, "Her company violated safety standards [and] was criticized for tolerating steroid and drug use.” A WWE statement called the criticism "inconsistent and hypocritical."
