The youngest member of the Republican House freshman class is also the most contrary, voting against his own party more than any GOP lawmaker,
The New York Times reports. Rep. Justin Amash, 30,

has voted against the majority 25 percent of the time, a record of dissent that might have been predicted by his nickname as a Michigan legislator: “Mr. No.”
Amash, a conservative, says he has voted against measures that he supports in principle — including defunding Planned Parenthood and public broadcasting — because he believed the legislation in question to be unconstitutional.
“I follow a set of principles, I follow the Constitution,” he said. “And that’s what I base my votes on. Limited government, economic freedom and individual liberty.”
Amash also uses his Facebook page to explain every vote.
