Carter, who turned 86 on Friday, joked about his favorite cartoon, which appeared in the New Yorker magazine. It shows a young boy informing his father that he hopes to be an ex-president when he grows up.
“I think sometimes President [Barack] Obama thinks about that cartoon as well as I, and everyone who’s served in the White House,” Carter said. He also appeared at a Habitat for Humanity job site Monday.
