The tax deal President Barack Obama negotiated with congressional Republicans hasn’t done much for his relationship with House Democratic leaders. They are beginning to abandon the administration, going their own way on key issues such as national security,
The Hill reports.

For example, the appropriations committee late Wednesday attached a provision to a $1.1 trillion resolution to keep the government funded next year that would prevent Obama from spending any money to try terrorism suspects in civilian court instead of military commissions. That would essentially avoid the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention center.
Some House Democrats say the move represents an act of defiance to show just how angry the caucus is with Obama’s decision to work with Republicans on taxes.
