A majority of likely voters in 10 important, hotly contested congressional districts believe that President Barack Obama has either brought no change to the country or made things worse, according to a poll from
The Hill. It’s no wonder then that many Democratic candidates are shunning the president in their campaigns.

As for the specifics, 41 percent of respondents say Obama has changed the country for the worse, and 30 percent say he has had no impact.
“All change is not good change, and the voters are expressing overall dissatisfaction with the direction of change so far,” said pollster Mark Penn of Penn Schoen Berland, which conducted the survey.
Many experts say the president over-promised. “The stronger the pledge to make change, the greater the subsequent disillusionment,” says Ross Baker, political science professor at Rutgers University. “It’s a common theme and a common trap.”
