Cain: ‘I’d Be Dead’ Under Obamacare

Many Republicans oppose the healthcare law passed last year. And for presidential candidate Herman Cain, a cancer survivor, it’s personal. "If Obamacare had been fully implemented when I caught cancer, I'd be dead," the businessman said at a campaign event Thursday in Lexington, S.C., reports The Hill.

“I was able to go to the doctors I wanted to as fast as they could do the tests. I didn’t have to wait six months like you do in other countries to get a cat scan.”

And without a quick cat scan, Cain said he would have died because his cancer was spreading so fast.

“Because I was able to get treatment as soon as I could and get the quality of care I did, that’s what has me alive today,” he said. “You ought to be able to make those choices if you get a serious illness, not some bureaucrat in Washington.”
