Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Wednesday that he believes Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012.
"My guess is yes – she's going to run for president," Giuliani told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "She sounds to me like somebody who's running for president."
The former presidential candidate the GOP should "put off the [2012 presidential] election" and "try to accomplish a few things first," citing a potential compromise on the extension of tax cuts set to expire at the end of the year.
He predicted as many as 15 Republicans would run for president.
Giuliani did praise the Obama administration's homeland security apparatus in the wake of a series of parcel interceptions that appear to have thwarted an attack planned by al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
But he slammed the administration after authorities detained the so-called "underwear bomber" and processed him as a domestic criminal on Christmas Day in 2009.
"There's no reason to treat him like a domestic criminal," Giuliani said. "He's a war criminal. If these people had pulled off this attack, would we treat them as domestic criminals?"
