Google Gives More Money to GOP than Dems

Until recently many high-technology companies favored Democrats over the GOP. But now that’s changing. The political action committee of search engine monolith Google gave 55 percent of its donations to Republicans in the three months ended Oct. 15 -- $57,500, according to an analysis of the Google’s campaign finance filings by company foe Consumer Watchdog, The Hill Reports.  Democrats received only 45 percent, or $47,500.

That’s a reversal from the previous quarter when Google’s PAC, known as NetPAC, doled out 58 percent of its contributions, or $19,600, to Democrats and just 42 percent to Republicans -- $14,000.

Three of the four congressmen who received Google’s maximum contribution of $5,000 in the latest quarter are Republicans: House Minority Leader John Boehner (pictured) and Reps. Darrell Issa and Kevin McCarthy of California. The other $5,000 check went to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
