Giuliani Rips Obama’s Mideast Policy

By    |   Monday, 07 March 2011 04:18 PM EST

Many Republicans are upset with President Barack Obama’s policies toward the Mideast. And former New York City GOP Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who has expressed interest in running for president again, is one of them, Politico reports.

He says the United States has fallen “behind the curve’ on Libya, should give more aid to democratic movements trying to overthrow dictators in countries like Iran and should increase support for Israel. The White House is sending a “very foggy” message, Giuliani told Politico.

"With all that's going on in the Middle East, the U.S. first of all has to appreciate even more the state of Israel as a country that is a stable democracy," Giuliani said.

Discussing the turmoil in the rest of the Mideast, Giuliani said he’d “like to see the administration use this opportunity… to define democracy and freedom as being about not just elections, but about the principles of a democratic society.”
