Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich says he’d love to receive the endorsement of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who announced Wednesday that she’s not running herself. “I think any candidate would like to have her endorsement,” Gingrich said. “But I don’t expect her to jump in in the near future. She is a citizen in her own right, she’s a force in her own right. . . . She has so many followers who really listen to her and pay attention to her.”
Palin will still have an impact on public discussion of policy issues, Gingrich said.
