Gillespie: Democrats Abusing Power

The White House and other Democrats are abusing their power in attacking Republicans over fundraising, says Republican political strategist Ed Gillespie. His comments, on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” came after President Obama said the GOP is trying to steal the election with secret special-interest money, possibly including cash from foreign companies, Poltico reports.

Some Democrats are calling for an investigation into whether foreign money is being used to finance campaigns. "This is the kind of abuse of power, in a lot of ways, and the kind of attacks that most Americans are rejecting and it one of the reasons they are in such trouble in this election," Gillespie said.

"This kind of intimidation to silence political opponents, you wonder why people may not want to be disclosed?"
