The White House and House Minority Leader John Boehner have taken their spat to Twitter, Politico reports. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs and the GOP leader went after each other Sunday after a New York Times story portrayed Boehner as tied closely to lobbyists.
In one Tweet, Gibbs wrote, “Headline says it all . . . A G.O.P. Leader Tightly Bound to Lobbyists.” In another, he said, “Story on Boehner covers some of his greatest hits — handing out checks from lobbyists on the House floor.”

But Boehner had a response. He provided a link to a June 24 Times story about Obama officials meeting lobbyists at Caribou Coffee, very near the White House.
“@PressSec forgot to Tweet about Dems meeting w/lobbyists @ Caribou,” Boehner wrote. “Also hasn't explained how raising taxes on small businesses will create jobs. We're still waiting.”
