Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson is seeking the Republican nomination for president. Johnson’s entry into the race puts him in the company of a long list of GOP presidential aspirants who have visited Newmax headquarters in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Johnson served as New Mexico governor from 1995 to 2003. He made his announcement on the steps of the New Hampshire State House in Concord. The libertarian is known for his efforts to legalize marijuana and for cutting his state’s budget and taxes,
USA Today reported.
Johnson recently traveled to
Newsmax for an interview in which he predicted a financial collapse and likened the Federal Reserve’s monetary policies to a Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme.
Other potential presidential hopefuls who have passed through Newsmax doors include former and current governors Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty, Haley Barbour, and Mike Huckabee; as well as real estate developer Donald Trump, businessman Herman Cain, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, and Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota.
