Castro, Chavez Slam bin Laden Killing

Both Fidel Castro and Venezuela’s vice-president have come out in opposition to the circumstances surrounding the killing of Osama bin Laden.

The retired Cuban dictator says the Navy SEAL raid into Pakistan “violated that country’s laws and offended its dignity,” the Babalu blog reports.

In an opinion piece Castro says the decision to kill bin Laden and bury him at sea "has turned him into a much more dangerous man."

Meanwhile Elias Jaua, Hugo Chavez’s deputy in Venezuela, slammed Americans’ reaction to the killing. “It surprises me to no end how natural crime and murder has become, how it is celebrated,” Jaua said on state TV. “At least before, imperialist governments were more subtle.

“Now the death of anyone, based on what they are accused of, but not only those working outside of the law like bin Laden, but also presidents, the families of presidents, are openly celebrated by the leaders of the nations that bomb them.”
