Asked by Newsmax’s Ashley Martella if he thinks Republican Party losses in Congress will be “to the magnitude that’s been predicted,” Duncan responded:

“I think there’s going to be some surprises there. I think there are a few seats we’re going to pick up.

“I’m now looking at the Senate seat in Louisiana that is extremely close,” he said, referring to the battle between incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu and her GOP challenger John Kennedy.

“We think Norm Coleman is doing well in Minnesota,” Duncan told Newsmax. “[Kentucky Sen.] Mitch McConnell is doing well. [Georgia Sen.] Saxby Chambliss is doing well.

“I do believe we will do better than predicted.”

Martella asked if North Carolina, where incumbent Sen. Elizabeth Dole is in a tight race, is “a trouble spot.”

Duncan answered: “North Carolina is a state where we’ve put a lot of resources. We have victory centers there. We have a lot of volunteers.

“We’re still very competitive in North Carolina, and hope Senator Dole is victorious along with Senator McCain.”
