In danger of losing control of both the House and Senate in next month’s elections, Democrats are pushing their fundraising apparatus into high gear. The Democratic National Committee will report more than $16 million in donations for September when its files its monthly

report with the Federal Election Commissio
n Oct. 20, DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse told The Hill.
That would be Democrats’ best month of the campaign, surpassing the DNC's $16.2 million inflow during August.
Despite polls showing them in big trouble, some Democrats are getting more optimistic. "The truth is we've turned things around," Vice President Joe Biden said last Thursday at a fundraising event. "Not enough, but we've turned it around."
