The list of people pressing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie to enter the race for the Republican presidential nomination now includes former first lady Barbara Bush, the
New York Post reported.
The wife of former President George H.W. Bush apparently placed a call to New Jersey’s first lady, Mary Pat, sources told the paper. The message: Life in the White House can be pretty good.
Mrs. Bush assured Mrs. Christie that her family and children would be able to thrive in the White House, a Christie intimate told the New York Post.
Regardless, the paper also reported that Christie has informed his inner circle that he is still not running. His brother, Todd, also has told reporters that the New Jersey governor hasn’t changed his mind and that he won’t seek the Republican nod for president.
