Polls show Republicans winning more than the 39 additional seats needed to take back the House next week. Rep. Jim Himes, D-Conn., who may lose his own seat, agrees, though Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen says just the opposite,
The Hill reports.

“I do think there is a high probability right now that Republicans take control of the House,” Himes told a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon, according to the Danbury News-Times.
Most Democrats are acknowledging the reality. To be sure, Himes is one of the few Democrats willing to admit to the party’s plight in public. Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the head of House Democrats' campaign efforts, said as recently as Sunday, that Democrats will maintain their majority.
