Many Republicans are getting enthusiastic about the idea that real estate mogul/reality TV star Donald Trump might run for president, but not the Club for Growth,
Politico reports. The club, which works for smaller government and lower taxes, calls Trump's presidential flirtation a "publicity stunt [that] will sputter and disappear just as quickly as 'The Apprentice' is losing viewers."

Club President Chris Chocola says, "Donald Trump for president? You've got to be joking. Donald Trump has advocated for massive tax increases that display a stunning lack of knowledge of how to create jobs."
The club notes that Trump’s 2000 book, "The America We Deserve," recommends a universal healthcare plan. The goal should be "an equivalent of the single-payer plan that is affordable, well-administered and provides freedom of choice," Trump wrote in the book.
