Befitting a man who would like to run for president as an independent, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg blasts both Democrats and Republicans in Washington for their handling of the economy. In a speech Wednesday, he criticized the two parties for neglecting their duties in favor of partisan quarrels, attacking the corporate community and failing to keep the U.S. competitive with the rest of the world,
The New York Times reports.

Bloomberg proposed a plan to spark entrepreneurship and growth, urging tax cuts for businesses, simplification of regulation and investments in job training. Also befitting a presidential wannabe, he issued no specifics of his plans.
Bloomberg is unlikely to run, as he has virtually no chance to win, but surely he enjoys having the platform to rip into both parties. He made no mention of how this week’s tax agreement fits with his theme of partisan bickering.
